'90'S MOVIES
Three movies I watched this weekend to cheer myself up, or at least gain new perspective on things. And it worked, at least a little:
Lorenzo’s Oil: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1aDnGlT-Sg
A DC couple struggle for years to find a cure for their son with a rare genetic disease. I saw it years ago and could relate in some ways – sometimes your body doesn’t do what you want it to, no matter what you eat, drink etc. Also, progress comes slowly, then all of a sudden. And sometimes you have to fight the established belief system.
Fried Green Tomatoes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg-z2ThBmfo
Mary Stuart Masterson takes a murder rap for an African-American, who would almost certainly hang. Also, you can make positive changes in your life. And Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary Louise Parker are hot.
Enchanted April: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ4ndgoVnxo
Four Englishwomen rent a castle in Italy to get away from it all. Sometimes you just need to take a break. It helps to look at people/things in a different way, to try new things. And holding onto the past can drag one down.
