PRAYER OF JABEZ

"Oh that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain."

1 Chronicles 4:9-10

You are supposed to say this for 30 days, so I am going to try it. The latest Novena to St. Jude was a dismal failure and I was not able to make a go of the Novena to St. Andrew (My fault). So I will say this for the rest of the month.

Evangelicals disapprove of this prayer because they say it preaches the "prosperity gospel" and treats G-d like genie or a vending machine or something like that. Still, I figure not causing pain is a good thing. I wish the Evangelicals I deal with would concentrate on that.
