LAST NIGHT I DREAMT I WENT TO MANDERLEY AGAIN

Ok, I went to Munich, not Manderley, and dreamt about essentially the same neighbourhood I usually do . But this time I went up the Schellingstraße and ended up on Leopoldstraße. My undergraduate advisor told me recently the Leopoldstraße had become "notorious." It just looked dingy. I could hear cinders and ashes which fell from the eaves of the roofs crumbling under my feet, like volcanic ash.

I wanted to cry.

As in all my dreams, I had to fly out within the next day or two, so I hit all the pastry shops.
