Happy Memorial Day! Although some people think it's inappropriate to wish anyone "Happy" Memorial Day, that it should be a solemn occasion. Jeez, it's not as though I'm wishing someone Happy Pearl Harbor Day or Happy Kristallnacht.

Some people say this is the beginning of the summer vacation season, not the summer solstice. Some people say Labour Day is the end of summer, not the Autumnal Equinox.

I say stretch the season out as long as possible -- have it begin Memorial Day and End on the Autumnal Equinox
